JANIS ELSPETH PLATTS Janis Elspeth Platts passed away at the Misericordia Place Personal Care Home on July 24, 2009 at the age of 59 years. She was predeceased by her parents Charles Platts and Grace Murray, stepfather Randy Murray and by her sister Susan. She is survived by her brother Grant Platts (Claire), nephew Duncan, stepbrother David Murray (Pat), stepsister Joan Tucker, and the other members of the Murray, Tucker, and Maxwell families. Janis graduated from St. Mary's Academy and was employed by Manitoba Pool Elevators (Agricore) for many years. She traveled extensively and was an enthusiastic member of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. Janis possessed an indomitable spirit and met a number of life challenges, including her recent illness, with optimism and concern for others. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Misericordia for their compassionate and respectful care of Janis. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 17, 2009 be at 2:00 p.m. at Misericordia Place Personal Care Home, 44 Furby Street. Flowers are gratefully declined.
