Molly Ross - June 14, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Molly Ross on June 14, 2022 at Riverview Health Centre, with her loving family by her side.
Molly was born October 22, 1921 to Nathaniel and Jessie Whiteford in Rosebank, MB. She grew up in Norwood with her sisters, Barb and Jean and her brother Bill. Molly left school after grade 10 and started at Eatons colorizing photos. This was the start of her passion for painting and other artistic abilities. In her spare time, Molly enjoy and succeeded at crafts, painting, knitting, crocheting, paper tole, macramé and much more.
Molly met Jack while he was on leave during the war. Upon his return from the war, they married on November 4, 1945. They had two children, John and Pat and resided at 118 Pilgrim Avenue for almost 50 years.
Molly was a long-time member of Regent's Park United Church (now St. Mary's Road United), where she was actively involved in Sunday school, CGIT and the UCW. She was also involved with the 6C brownie pack at St. Mark's Anglican Church. She continued to be active in clubs and organizations into her late 80s.
The Scottish Pavilion at Folklorama is where Molly spent many hours volunteering, where she helped out in the kitchen in the early mornings and shut it down every evening working at the gift shop.
One of Molly's favourite things was to travel. She had travelled numerous times to Northern Ireland, Scotland and many gambling trips to the states. Molly's most memorable trip was to Aruba at the age of 95 for her granddaughter's wedding. Molly was a very active person and enjoyed walking, swimming, tai-chi, line dancing and keeping up with her busy family.
Molly will be remembered by her sister Jean Denny; son John Ross; daughter Pat Cavanagh (Gary); her grandchildren, Doug Ross (Tammy), Justin Ross (Faye), Brian Ross, Doug Cavanagh, Meaghan Tromp (Anthoney) and her great-grandchildren, Connor, Emma and Sara Ross, Laxton and Xavier Tromp; her nieces and nephews and special friend Liz Wiles.
Molly was predeceased by parents, Nathaniel and Jessie; her husband Jack; granddaughter Leah Cavanagh; sister Barb English; brother Bill Whiteford and best friend Betty Morrison.
A service will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd, Winnipeg, MB on Monday June 20, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Viewing will be a half hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Cemetery.
