Audrey J. ALDERSON (McGHEE)
It is with deep sadness that Audrey Alderson's family announces her passing on Fri, Feb 14, 1992 at the Health Sciences Centre. Audrey was born on April 20, 1925 in Innisfail, Alta. She leaves behind her 3 daughters, Glenna & husband Gil Ballard of West Palm Beach, Fla., Bev Mehmel & Michael Scharikow & grandson Jeffrey of Winnipeg & Tracey Aiderson of Winnipeg; sisters, Irma & Lloyd Yard of Carberry, Man., Willa & Al Kananen of Eckville, Alta., Donna & Bob Hallam of Hinton, Alta., Zella & Denby Evans of Victoria BC, Bonnie & Jim Bowes of McLeod, Alta,; brother-in-law Bill & Edith Alderson of Coquitlam, BC; sister-in-law Olive Alderson of Winnipeg; great-aunt Marge Chesworth of Winnipeg; numerous nieces & nephews & countless friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Glen in 1966; her son Percy in 1972; her sister Sheila Lehmann in 1980; her brother Ron McGhee in 1973 & her own parents many years before. Audrey was born & raised in Innisfail, Alta., the 2nd daughter in a family of 8. In 1943 she joined the RCAF Women's Division & served in the forces as a corporal until the war's end. In 1946 she married Glen Alderson & moved to Winnipeg, where they raised their first 3 children, Percy, Glenna & Bev. From 1961-1964 the family lived in Calgary, where Audrey worked at Mount Royal College. After returning to Winnipeg, their youngest child Tracey was born in 1965.
