CATHERINE CAMPBELL "CATHIE"(née RIDDOCH)
Cathie Campbell passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 6, 2018 in the Concordia Hospital at the age of 75 years.
Cathie was born in Stonehaven, Scotland to Catherine and Albert Riddoch on December 10, 1942. Cathie attended school in Aberdeen, Scotland until she immigrated to Canada in 1955 with her parents. Cathie married David (Dave) Watson Campbell on July 11th, 1964 at St. Andrews United Church in Winnipeg. Cathie and Dave initially settled in St. James before moving to St. Vital in 1971. Cathie worked for the T. Eaton Company in the Grill Room and later as an accounting clerk for 15 years. Cathie also worked for Toronto Dominion and Royal Bank as a teller before retiring.
Cathie was involved in many organizations; she was a member of the Royal Country Dancers Society of Winnipeg, Folklorama, both with the original Mug Pub and The Pavilion of Scotland where she volunteered for over 30 years. Cathie became involved with the Ena Sutton Highland Dancers, assisting Judy Rowan as David was piper for the group. Cathie enjoyed many summer camping trips with family, friends, and the Winnipeg Wandering Wheels RV Club. Cathie and Dave are members of Windsor Park United Church.
Cathie is predeceased by her mother Catherine and father Albert, of Winnipeg.
Cathie is survived by her husband Dave of Winnipeg; son David and his wife Renee of Plantation, Florida; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
The family of Cathie wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses of Concordia Hospital 3E for all their devotion and wonderful care they have given over the past 2 months.
At Cathie’s request, no funeral services will be held; cremation has taken place and a family gathering will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of your choice in her name.
Cathie will be sadly missed and forever loved.
