ELIZABETH (BETTY) MORRISON It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother Betty, on March 5, 2011 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 85. She passed away peacefully with family at her side after a week long battle with pneumonia. Betty was predeceased by her parents and her husband Bill who passed away in 1972. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Jean (Stuart) Swain, Liz (Rick) Wiles; and grandchildren, Kelly, Roxane, Cory and Shannon; and great-grandchildren, Ayla and Annike. Betty is also survived by her brother Gordon Kirkland and sister-in-law Jan McQueston. Betty was born in Scotland on June 13, 1925. She married Bill and returned to Canada as a war bride. They resided in St. Vital and she was an active member of Regents Park United Church now know as St. Mary's Road United Church. She worked at Luke's Electric for several years. Betty was a longtime volunteer at the Scottish Pavilion at Folklorama. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Road United Church, 613 St. Mary's Road. Private family interment at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. A special thank you goes out to all the staff at Concordia Hospital, CancerCare Hematology Department and St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care over the last few years.
